Not even going to be moved in yet in Kauai and have some friends that are going to be in Maui. They are staying at the Four Seasons hotel which is to rich for my blood. Any suggestion for a hotel nearby that is more reasonable in price. Only need it for one night, thanks in advance.

I like the Diamond Resort, which is a condo complex about a half-mile mauka of the Four Seasons. Great views and a pretty place. If you want to be on the beach, the Maui Prince is about a mile or so farther down the road in Makena. (If you stay at the Prince, stop by to hear our friend Ron Kualaau at the bar.)
