Don't look at Subaru then. Forester X? Comes with a manual. The turbo Forester XT? Nope.
I Know! What I don't get is that it doesn't cost the manufacturer a lot to offer the upgrade packages or more options to people who want the niceties but like to drive a manual transmission car. Some wont even offer a backup camera with the base model....not even as an option. I guess when it becomes mandatory in 2018, then they'll have to do so.
Well, we are no longer a two Mazda family. My wife got sick and tired of one of us having to ride in the back seat of our 2010 Mazda 6 due to the airbag recall. After months of being told that there were no parts available, we finally got a good deal and traded it in. They would have given us a rental, but we wanted to be able to use our car, not some rental until who knows when. Liked the car but not the situation.
Still have the 2004 MPV. Love that vehicle; will keep that as our second car until the wheels fall off.

Toyota, Honda and Ford all have thousands of cars waiting for replacement airbags. My dad is in the same position with his 2004 Accord. I can only imagine how frustrating it is to wait indefinitely for the parts.

We got a 2017 Kia Sorento EX. A couple of my family members have them and really like them. Only had it a week, but my wife and I agree that we don't miss the Mazda 6 quite as much as we thought we would.
Mazdas don't really have much of a reputation in the US. Most people avoid Mazda, not because they are bad cars, but because "why would I buy a Mazda when I can just buy a Toyota or Honda." Toyota and Honda are known for being reliable and having good resell value, so the masses prefer those.
Also, Mazda has seen so many ownership changes over the years, and their dealers are more sparsely located. Some Mazdas have been really ugly. The current ones look nice, but the previous generation were not nice looking.
Lastly, the price. I just compared prices online for my local Mazda and Honda dealer. The MSRP on the Mazda is at least $1000 more than the Honda. Unless you really like the Mazda, there isn't a good reason to pay $1000 more for the Mazda over the well known Civic.

I found this to be the opposite. Mazda offers their 3, 6, and several other vehicles in manual. It's awesome that the CX5 comes with a manual at all. I can't think of any other SUVs in the US that come with a manual option.

Are you comparing apples to apples?
I agree the CRV was more expensive then the CX5 when we test drove them and the CX 5 grand touring, as you know had navigation included, where as in the CRV it was 2,000 more to add it.
And then there's the look. Have you seen them side by side?
Looks wierdly happy in some kind of alien way.

No comparison imo. I never knew squat about Mazda, but the more I learn the bigger a fan I become.
