I am moving to Memphis later this summer and am looking at renting a place near Raleigh Bartlett Meadows Park for a year. I don't know the area at all and am on a budget. My daughter is too young for school districts to be an issue. Thoughts on the area please? It's north of Raleigh Lagrange Rd and east of Covington Pike. Thanks in advance.

Can you give me a little more information? How much house do you need and how much rent can you afford?

Our budget is 850-1150 for a 3br or 2br with storage and we found a really nice place for 850. It's right next to Raleigh Bartlett Meadows Park and Elementary. There appear to be a lot of nice, well-kept houses in the neighborhood mixed with the occasional dump (probably the rental properties). I understand it's not Germantown but we're trying to count our pennies so we have a more substantive down payment on a house in a year or two. I was just wondering if the neighborhood is tolerable near Raleigh Bartlett Meadow Park and Elementary.

I would suggest also looking in Bartlett. I recently rented two very nice 3/2 + garage for $975 and $1095 respectively. Raleigh Bartlett Meadows has many nice pieces of property, but the area has changed dramatically in the past 10 years.
