That was started a few years ago as The Horizon, but went into foreclosure after the real estate market meltdown. I haven't seen anything in the news lately about it....

No update.... it's remained a ghost town since it was foreclosed upon. The building and surrounding grounds were never finished. Sad, since it's absolutely enormous. Maybe someday someone will finish it...

Some exterior work resumed on it last year including finishing paint on east side of building. I heard the inside is still pretty much a blank slate that can be developed into condo/ luxury apartment mix according to market demand. Capital One Bank owns the building and is sitting on it until more inventory is sold & leased in the area, but I heard they are open to selling in the meantime.

thanks for all the info. now i have a name to google.

i will be coming to town in two weeks and i always run the trail in tom lee park. so, i will check it out.

when i was a kid, we stayed at the river bluffs and i have always been in awe with that location and view. (it was the flagship holiday inn at that time, 1960's)

thanks again

That former Holiday Inn (I think it was the Rivermont?) was converted to condos quite some time ago.

you are right, it was rivermont.

being a kid from rural arkansas, i thought the place was heaven, in the city where elvis lived. (it is still a beautiful property)

visits to memphis are still fun after all these years!

You must be thinking of a different building. The Horizon is definitely vacant. The whole property is surrounded by a chain link fence and the parking lot is full of weeds. Here's an article from 2 years ago about it, but there's a good photo of the building at the top. Perhaps you're thinking of the building next door?
