I am fresh graduate and moving to Memphis on mid June to start my first job. I don't want to stay in mid town or downtown. Can you suggest me safe and affordable apartment complexes in East Memphis, Germantown, or Cordova. My budget is between $ 600-800. Thanks for your time. I really appreciate your honest response.

Cordova has dozens of complexes, although I don't know the names of any. Germantown isn't going to have apartment complexes...maybe one? I wouldn't think they would have $600 prices though (it would be easy to search this online). The east part of Memphis probably has some, just stay south of Summer, north of Park, is my suggestion. Sorry I can't think of names, but if you find some you like, you could post the names on here and people can give feedback of the area at least.

There are two named the Preserve, one on Forest Hill and I-385 and one on Hacks Cross Roads just a bit north of I-385.

You have brand new ones, not sure of the name, on Winchester in Germantown just west of Forest Hill.

There are new apartments being built just south and east of Mike Rose Soccer Complex on Forest Hill, just south of I-385.

There are two new apartment complexes being built in Collierville on Winchester, just north of Winchester right near Shilling Farms.

In Germantown, there are several, one just to the south of Wolf River and west of Germantown Road, and then one at Humphreys Boulevard at I-240.

Many apartments in this area, but not sure of the prices.

Lincoln on the green southwind - I would think these are okay. But Winchester gets pretty bad to the west.
Briar Club Apartments - NO, that's Hickory Hill, bad part of the city
Fieldstone Apartments - these might be okay too, again the same situation with being close to Hickory Hill.
The Reserve at Mt. Moriah - NO, again you're right in Hickory Hill
The Grove Trinity Pointe - this is a fine area. Cordova. Personally as much as I hate Cordova, I would rather rent up there than down south towards Winchester Road. You're near Shelby Farms and Walnut Grove Rd.

These are just my opinions on the areas, as for the specific complexes, I have no clue. They may be good, they may not be. But don't move into Hickory Hill.

Fieldstone to me is in a great area, yes close to Hickory Hill, but not that close. It is just west of Hacks Cross Roads right across from all the corporate offices and TPC golf course in Southwind. It is a highly developed area and appears it should be very safe. You are five minutes from the commercial areas on Winchester and five minutes from the commercial areas in Germantown. Five minutes to I-385 and thus a great place to commute from. Have to guess that the price of these would be on the high end.

I would guess you are moving to work at FedEx, which is why you are picking complexes in that area? If not, can you give the area of town where you will be working? That would affect the suggestions. Traffic can be a real headache out along Germantown Rd and the interstates.

My office is located on Poplar Avenue towards Memphis but not even going to spend 1% of time in my office because I have to go for different client places. I don't want to stay close to FEDEX but I highly concern about security and also don't want to stay in down town or mid town. I really appreciate your time. Thank you so much for your time. This is my first job and my budget is in between $600 to $800.

Just stay well north of Winchester, if you want to be in the SE area. Also stay east of maybe Hacks Cross? The areas going north are also all fine, staying out in the suburbs. That's a tight budget, but I think do-able to get a small one bedroom for under $800.

Thanks. Based on my budget, I am planning to go with Lincoln on the green apartments. Is that safe?
