Curious about how many were affected by brief electrical outage this p.m. I'm only talking about seconds, not minutes. Only unusual because I was talking with someone on the phone on the other side of town that experienced the same brief electrical weirdness at the same time I did while we were talking. I know we're not on the same "circuits" because we've never experienced outages at the same time before. Another friend has now said the same thing. Wondering if it was something that affected the whole city.

My lights flickered and my computer shut down. The other said their alarm went off briefly and lights flickered and their clock is now blinking.

Just curious. I'll save my conspiracy theorist thoughts for later, Dan Brown style.

Power went out in Cordova at that time and didn't come back on until about 4:00. I just took a nap

It most apparently was a brownout. Not only did the power here surge, but as it slowly came back up, I noticed the water pressure was extremely low. I put in a call to someone I know with LGW and hope to get a response later today.

We didn't lose power in Collierville, but the surge was just enough to trip the breaker on my a/c compressor.
