I hear nothing good about this man. Nothing! Who voted for him anyway? Twice?

You'll want to do some reading...it's incredible.

I moved here in July. I voted for someone else.

It's kind of a different election process, no primary...just a big gang of candidates...the winner had less than 50% of the votes.

But maybe you can explain for me that if the mayor is so bad, then how can people still vote for him at all?. Why? It took you to read some facts, for you to vote on somebody else.
Does nobody else in this city read?

Of course they do. Not everyone is going to read the toilet paper that many call the comercial appeal. They are clearly part of the problem with Memphis instead of the solution.

Its important to get information from a variety of sources not found on the local newstand.

The most recent public poll shows that King Willie has a 2% approval rating.
Can't fall much lower from 2%. What's left? 1% and 0%.

Do you approve of Mayor Herenton's decision to return to Memphis City Schools?

Yes, I think he can help our troubled school system. 13% 347 votes
No, I think he should remain mayor. 2% 56 votes
I would prefer he did neither. 81% 2106 votes
I really don't care one way or the other. 2% 74 votes
2583 total votes

Poll: Do you approve of Mayor Herenton's decision to return to Memphis City Schools? : News : Commercial Appeal

Apparently there is no one as dynamic (arrogant, undaunted, badass...) in all of Memphis than Willie Herenton. Anyone who came from outside of Memphis would not be accepted. The African-American population of Memphis won't vote for a white mayor so there you go.

Because he's black. Period. Memphians would rather their city go down the toilet with a black mayor than possibly rise to new levels with a non-black mayor.

Politically incorrect, I know...but indisputable.
