We recently just moved to Collierville, and have noticed these skinny little black bugs. My in-laws are convinced they are silverfish, but they don't look anything like them [based on what i found online] so we are stumped. Anyone else have these and how do you get rid of them??

Maybe millipede, I've seen a few in my house before. I hope they're not dangerous like the big ones

Millipedes come in under the door. Not a big deal. Just squash 'em!

Aaaaaw man!! Millipedes are totally gross! I lived in Woodchase Apartments once. I frequently ran into them there. I had never encountered this alien bug before. Blew my mind the first few times. It reminds me of a small sea creature. Their bodies are extremely fragile though.

Having your house sprayed will help. You can do it yourself with a jumbo jug of OrthoMax, but I think you probably get better results when you pay a pest control service. The owner of the house I was renting had (if I remember the name right) Tri-State Pest Control come out and it was only $75 as opposed to like $200 for Orkin or Terminix.

A friend of mine works for Orkin and says that earwigs tend to show up more after rain. After a rain, while your welcome mat is still damp, go flip it over and see if you find any. Keeping that mat flipped over to dry out often will help.
Also, do you have a very moist yard or water standing in places after a rain? Earwigs thrive in moist areas close to the ground. Get the water running off of your yard better and that could help as well.
