Couldn't agree with you more! The allergies are wild, the rate of autism is astronomical, asthma is out of control and the same conditions are not exploding at the same rate in other areas of the world.
Clearly there must be something going on with our environment, food, etc. and our bodies can't take it...

It makes everyone wonder why all of these things are happening...if you have time you may find it interesting to read some of the studies about auto immune disease (which allergies are considered an immune response). Our family has several cases of auto immune disease and reading some of the reputable literature makes one scratch their heads in question.

I don't even know how I could be responsible for my child's allergy. Because I fed him his first pb&j sandwich, and that ended with a trip to the ER?
How many vaccines do you think he got before you fed him this sandwich? What was being done to you during your pregnancy? Not to mention babies have 200 + (I think it was more like 270-80) toxins, heavy metals, and you name it poisons in their umbilical cords!

Sierra, as a friend to a friend, I warn you, this is a very sensitive topic and I've gotten into numerous arguments about it.
I think that's a good question, but I just don't think it's a conspiracy. I have a cousin who didn't realize her son had a milk allergy until he almost died.
My guess is over the last several decades we have been eating and/or exposed to nuked foods, plastics, preservatives, pesticides, tons of immunizations and god knows what else, so who really knows why?
It is right to ask why things like autism are happening in greater numbers than ever before I too wonder what it has to do with environment and food supply.
But it is dead wrong to imply they aren't happening at all and are somehow just "made up" problems.
Of course those with no first hand experience have the luxury of propagating that misinformation. They should just count their lucky stars they aren't dealing with the issues some parents are.
I just took something to measure my AQ...or autism quotient? I scored fairly high.
I don't feel that I'm autistic in the usual sense of the word though, so I don't give the test much credence. I can be very focused on things that interest me to the point of tuning everyone and everything around me out. I don't like being touched. I don't find it easy to relate to others, to have sympathy or empathy for others.
All that doesn't make me autistic, or mean that I cannot have a personal relationship with another person. It just narrows the pool of acceptable people.
There is simply too much research still to be done. I'm the first one to admit I used to blame vaccines for autism, asthma and allergies, but I no longer think it's as black and white. Too many factors to consider.

When my eldest was first dx'ed, I ran to 3 different specialists, praying that they had it all wrong. The only thing I knew at the time (12 years ago) when I heard autism or PDD was "Rain Man". I thought they had it all wrong. I refused to accept it.
Then I started reading about all these experimental & unconventional therapies; vitamin therapy, GFCF diet, cranio-sacral. Some people swore that they "cured" their kids and I wanted to do the same. It must have been torture for him and I lined the pockets of many. In the end I realized that the best thing was to go back to basics and understand and accept how his mind was "wired". That has helped me help him progress, but he is still not cured nor will he ever be. There is no magic pill, but Autism and Asperger's do exist.
