when i walk in a public place that has mirrors i always avoid looking in the mirror and instead look away. when i am getting a haircut i avoid looking at the mirror in front of me and instead look down, leading the barber to think maybe i have some kind of problem. if he shows me the "finished product" i glance quickly and just say "cool". part of it is that i am balding and prefer not so see it but that's separate from not wanting to look in the mirror
the only time i can look in the mirror is when im shaving up close i like what i see. nice eyes, nice nose, nice head shape. very strange phenomenon
does anyone else go thru this kind of thing? is there a term for this?
Two very good friends both had a similar issue due to balding. One of them wore a baseball cap most of the time. Neither was bad looking, but thought they looked "old" and not like themselves when they looked in a mirror. One refused to have his picture taken, ever.
Happy to say both had hair transplants which turned out really well. I was skeptical about the procedures, but now I have to admit they both look better. They have much more self-confidence. And no more baseball caps.
i always get more regular cuts so it looks like i have proportionally more hair than if i let it grow. keeping it short and neat makes it look much better
interesting. i was just thinking about this one too
