I have started meditating, just 5-10 minutes a day. If I try to make myself do 20-30 minutes I know I won't keep up, but that amount of time is manageable. In the beginning, I only did 5 and only recently went up to 10, but I don't force myself to do 10. I think it helps. I also have to take news breaks at times,

This would probably do better in the "psychology" or "mental health" forum...

I haven't tried meditating although I know that is a good answer and realistic solution.
I try (very hard) to go for long walks every day. It's not always possible but unless the weather is horrific, I do feel so much better when I do it.
So I guess physical exertion ( and especially outside, in pretty settings if possible) really does help.

How Walking in Nature Changes the Brain"
"These developments seem to be linked to some extent, according to a growing body of research. Various studies have found that urban dwellers with little access to green spaces have a higher incidence of psychological problems than people living near parks and that city dwellers who visit natural environments have lower levels of stress hormones immediately afterward than people who have not recently been outside."

YMMV

Getting out into nature, connecting with loved ones, and limiting my exposure to news to a couple of times a day. And CBD Oil.

I usually try to walk as often as possible. I get really stir crazy this time of year because it is really too cold where I am to do a short daily walk. Many days it is just a 20-minute walk during lunch, but that helps a lot.

Take a drive to someplace that will lift my spirits, ocean, lake, river or just somewhere with interesting topography and listen to beautiful music. . . generally opera or classical. One of my favorites is Luciano Pavarotti "Nessum Dorma."
