Hey guys, thinking of planning a trip with 6 others in Mid July to Mexico. Not really sure where, but was wondering how the weather is...

When to Go to Mexico - For Dummies (http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/when-to-go-to-mexico.html - broken link)
Not sure how reliable of a source that is, but it sounds like it's not a great time to go during July. Possible thunderstorms and rain, along with the hot weather might make it a bit unenjoyable.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Except for the northern border area, nearly all of Mexico is cooler than the central USA in July. Pacific coast can be very hot. Highlands always cool. Gulf lowlands will be no hotter than Houston. Even Saltillo is high enough elevation that it is 10-15 degrees cooler than nearby lowland places like Laredo.. Mexico City and the central plateau rarely go above about 80. Summer thunderstorms last about 15 minutes, so stand under an awning and have a Coke and watch the river run through the streets---it'll be dry enough to walk across in another 15 minutes. These will occur at about 4 PM. If you're on the Gulf coast, your hurricane advisories will come in plenty of time for you to head for the hills.

I should have been a bit more clear. We're not exactly sure where we wanna go, but likely beach resorts or something close to the beach. Something along or very very close to the coastline. Had no clue about the microclimates in Mexico

OK---on the west coast, you might find it stultifyingly hot in midsummer. On the gulf coast, generally no worse than the southern US. It won't get any hotter as you keep going further south. In fact, at the summer solstice, you will be moving further from an overhead sun as you go further south of the Tropic of Cancer, which is not very far south of Texas. When you reach Ecuador, July will be a winter month.

Northern and upper central Mexico is usually cooler than Orange County in summer. The sun is a bit strong, though.

Very humid in the Yucatan Peninsula though, and the rain storms usually bring in mosquitos...the little ones, not the malaria ones.

Yes, during the time you plan to come it is definitely not very pleasant - lots of rain, extremely hot and buggy! From the end of June to mid-September is NOT a particularly good time to come for your first visit to the Pacifica Coast beaches. Chances are you wouldn't come back! For those who live here, it's something to be endured..

In BCS it's just hot in the summer with very little humidity.
