I have a friend who's son has been accepted into UM. They live out of state and asked me where the son should rent a place. He will be working and is getting some help from his parents. They asked me where he should rent. I am thinking South Miami but my wife thinks Coconut Grove.

Which one and why?

South Miami, or Coral Gables. Closer to school, can take the train for transportation. Red Road Commons, right across from campus...the closer you live to campus in college the better, in case you have classes that are spread out, like one at 9:00 am, and another at 3:00 pm, or labs.

South Miami. Coconut Grove isn't as nice and can be somewhat creepy.

I would say South Miami is a better choice.
