I took like two months off this site, just for the same reasons. People like to exaggerate the good and the bad things more than just telling like it is. It is ok if Miami isn't perfect, no place is.

Why would someone asked to be banned? Can't they just make the choice to not visit the site?

There are many good posters here...and if someone cannot "take the negativity", try the real world! This is an accurate representation of South Florida with the negative, the positive.

I think the problem is that many people are able to insulate themselves from the complaints they see on here, and when they have to read about them, they are no longer able to hide from them. I just find it curious that if someone hates the "negativity" on here that they can't help themselves from coming back for more so they ask to be banned....sigh.

Well, there are great posters here, have been, and we will likely see more in the future. I hope all of the people that hate the "negativity" volunteer at local soup kitchens like Camillus House or the Miami Rescue Mission, TREEmendous Miami and neighborhood watch comittees in order to help diminish the "negative" element that is so bothersome to READ about.

I'm not sure what happened in FortLauderdale's case, but I know that he was posting very frequently in the last few weeks or so when he was here. I'm going to make the assumption that he decided that he was overdoing it on the boards and needed to concentrate on other things In Real Life and asked to be banned in order to force himself off the board.
