For having one of the most "impressive" skylines, which it does, in America, it sure is missing a unique building. NYC has the Empire State building, Chicago has the Sears tower, Seattle has the Space needle, Reunion Tower dallas, it would be great to see Miami eventually get a tower that seperates itself from the rest, just an idea.. Probably will happen in the future, but just surprised Miami don't have one just yet, I see they plan on making that crazy looking round shaped towers possibly in the future, but no official. This one looks like it will be pretty cool once finished if it ever gets done: Empire World Towers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I suppose so. I find many of them to be unique, though. Not buildings that stand out like the well known Empire State or Sears Tower (which actually just happens to be tall, not really great architecture) but unique nonetheless. 500 Brickell comes to mind first. The circle is very unique.

The Conrad building at 1395 Brickell Avenue is pretty impressive, the way the concave glass face reflects the sky on a sunny day. Although it's not the tallest building around, but I can't recall seeing anything architecturally similar in other cities. It will probably be surpassed by something much taller and majestic in the next decade or so.

errrr.... hummmmmmmmmmmmm..... thing is.......ahhhhhhhhhhh

that building is very squarish and short to be iconic... it kindda gets lost in the skyline.

Nation Bank building however was a very iconic building until recently, especially at night.

I think the BOA which is now called Miami Towers is very unique as it uses multi-colored lights analogous to certain events or seasons.

Miami Bank of America Holiday Lights 2011 - YouTube
Yeah, but not anymore, it's kinda hidden in the skyline too.

The "Conrad" building is just the name of the hotel portion of the building. It is the "Espirito Santos Plaza" named for the bank's namesake.
One Bayfront Plaza when built will become Miami's signature tower at 80 stories tall and 1,010 feet tall making it Miami's first "supertall. It well also have a "observation deck open to the public!
