Are there any emos/punk rockers in Miami? Any good rock bars?

I was surprised to find the hipster/fixed-gear bike crowd to be as big as it was when I moved here. The old hangout was a place on the edge of Overtown called "Bar" that was formally "PS-14" but that closed 6 months ago. The new place to interact with that crowd is at Mamushkas on 36th street and North Miami Ave.

As for suspender laden, steel toe boot wearing, mohawked punk rockers, I've not seen a one down here.

Emo was big in 2005 in Miami, in the circles obviously. There were 2 Emo-core/Screamo bands playin aloud in my neighborhood alone. By 2008 all the emos were nowhere to be found lol... most of them probably moved to the "Deathcore" genre, but that genre never came with a partiulcar/exclusive fashion.

All in all most core music is unpopular nowadays, but there are always people listening to it. Now most underground events in Miami are directed to HarshNoise, Nudisco, FutureGarage, Witchhouse, Trillwave, Chillwave ==== indietronica, and some rock oriented genres like noiserock, psychedelic pop and shoegazer.

But there are always punk shows in the same places as always/

oh and this:

Churchill's Pub in Little Haiti is the only place in Miami with a punk-rock vibe that I know of. If there are any punk rockers still left in Miami, you might find them there: Churchill's Pub - Gallery

Iggy Pop and Sum 41 filmed a video there some years ago

As close as it gets... Churchills as mentioned. Us old punks still go when its someone we remember. Half the time we dont know who the new bands are but its still a nice non-Miami style gritty hangout we all love. Fixed gear keeps growing. 3 years ago you could barely get 40 people at Loose Cannons and Critical Mass events. Now its thousands. The coolest thing is its not limited to the fixie crowd. You could ride a unicycle and its all good. Super fun events... GO RIDE!!!

Emo/punk/scene/deathcore and whatever all seem to have merged into hipster. Which miami beach is absolutely full of. Mostly looking lost while wondering about at 2 pm.

Are you sure? As far as I know, emos turned into the deathcore/djent craze of the mid/late 2000's. I don't know what happened after that.
