Two coastal cities: one in the southeast corner of the US the other in the southwest corner.

Miami can be described as a sub-tropical climate. Los Angeles as a Mediterranean climate.

Here's the avg. monthly highs and lows for both cities as well as the monthly rainfall (in inches):

LOS ANGELES:
H - L - Rain
Jan. 68 - 47 - 3.3
Feb. 70 - 50 - 3.7
March 70 - 52 - 3.1
April 73 - 54 - 0.8
May 75 - 58 - 0.3
June 78 - 61 - 0.06
July 84 - 65 - 0
Aug. 85 - 66 - 0
Sept. 83 - 65 - 0.32
Oct. 79 - 60 - 0.37
Nov. 73 - 53 - 1.32
Dec. 69 - 48 - 1.05

MIAMI:
H - L - Rain
Jan. 75 - 59 - 1.9
Feb. 77 - 61 - 2.0
March 79 - 64 - 2.4
April 82 - 67 - 3.1
May 85 - 72 - 5.9
June 88 - 74 - 9.2
July 90 - 76 - 6.1
Aug. 90 - 76 - 7.8
Sept. 88 - 75 - 8.9
Oct. 85 - 72 - 7.0
Nov. 80 - 67 - 3.0
Dec. 77 - 62 - 2.1

THOUGHTS:
1) Miami has great winters (warmer than Los Angeles);
2) Miami has UNPLEASANT HUMID summers.
3) LA has pleasant summers: low humidity and virtually no rain.
4) Miami has pleasantly warm ocean water.
5) LA has that cold current flowing down from Alaksa.
6) LA has GOOD surf. Miami beaches are a LAKE (kind of a snooze).
7) So. Calif. has many "micro-climates" so you can snow ski in the local mountains one day and surf the next.

WINNER:
-Depends, if you do NOT want to sweat all DAY and NIGHT Los Angeles is the place.
-If you want to jump in the ocean without a wetsuit then Miami might be your choice.

Burgler09 is WRONG. It did NOT snow in LA this year. It snows every year in the mountains near Los Angeles but NOT in the city itself.

And there is NO DOUBT that Miami has HORRIBLE, STEAMY, HUMID summers. Los Angeles has PLEASANT summers. Beats Miami hands down.

Miami has better summers? And Fall? When does "fall" occur in Miami? Miami is hot and sticky as hell, almost all yr round. LA wins hands down.

Who would want to live in a hot ans sticky places over a place with much more comfortable temps? Look at the highs and the lows for LA... they look good. Then look for Miami... hot, hot, hot.

LA has better year round weather than Miami, hands down. The only people that will think otherwise love humidity.

You must be crazy if you can't notice a difference in the climate of October vs. August.

I think people who say Miami has bad weather have never lived in Moscow. People who say its humid and hot have never lived in Bejing. People who say that Miami has bad crime has never lived in Rio. People who say there are bad economy, few jobs and a lot of poor people have never lived in Lagos. People who said there are rude people, bad drivers and awful trafic have never been in Moscow, Cairo, Mumbai and so on. But more than a dozen millions of people are living in every that places and most of them feel well about it despite different problems.

Guys, love the city you live! its really not that bad. its really great. any city has good and bad things - dont worry about it too much. people who focus on bad things usually unhappy and always think that other places are better, other women are more beauty, other grass are greener. but they are not! any person can be happy in any city and be unhappy in any city - depend on him. not on weather. love what you have.
