I don't know what is going on but there is any toilet paper on stands on any big store. Fortunately we always buy enough provisions from Bj's and others but I needed to buy something in Walmart last night and I noticed a huge line of people literally snatching toilet papers from stands; yet not enough food in their carts. I am not sure if this is another b.s fake news or what but, do you have any idea who started this non-sense?

At first I heard that most toilet paper was manufactured in China and the shutdown would cause a shortage worldwide. I think that theory was debunked.

Now people are being told to prepare to be quarantined for weeks, so they are buying up all the toilet paper. Media/social media are reporting on people hoarding TP so everyone who hasn't yet bought it will soon try to get some. Crazy times!

I believe the rush for toilet paper first started when face masks were all sold out and a rumor spread that you can make face masks with toilet paper. Then by the time that rumor reached the US it switched to possibly being locked in your house for weeks. It’s all rather stupid if you ask me lol.

Yeh agreed. it is rather stupid. Its not like a natural disaster that deprives stores of power needed to operate.

Even in countries that are under complete lockdown, they are still allowing a single family member make trips to the grocery store or pharmacy. They are also limiting the number of people that can enter into the store at a time.

New Rochelle, NY is still having provisions being delivered to the residences.

Exactly, I can understand things like face masks and hand sanitizer being out of stock... but fresh meat, toilet paper, etc.... lol come on. I doubt we will go into complete lock down... our government is too worried about the economy to do that. They even discourage us from wearing N95 masks for crying out loud.

A roll last me over a month. Just use a rag or whatever. I don't get it with the Terlet paper thing. It don't get it clean anyways when a wet rag with soap does.

I agree, I just threw my TV several years ago. I guess these are the times when watching news are a real necessity.

Default Toilet paper = gold.

Coronavirus panic buying. Shortages of a lot of things due to fear of being quarantined at home for weeks so people are buying up what they can and even though it's not a gastrointestinal illness, there's the fear that if you don't have enough toilet paper to last you a while, you never know when you're going to find it again if it keeps flying off the shelves. Especially when you have people who have been buying up stuff for weeks so they can profit off of panic: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/14/t...n-sellers.html & https://www.foxnews.com/world/amazon...-price-gougers. Quality folks right there.

See the attached Supernatural bit about hoarding it like it's gold. If push comes to shove, TP could become a form of currency. Barter a can of beans for a roll or something. Who knows. I just hope this whole thing resolves itself quickly and things return to normal.

My friend in Destin said someone went to the pubic beach access bathrooms and stole all the toilet paper..that's just crazy.

Toilet paper is the last thing I'd stock up on. Publix keeps running out of chicken and steak, people are freezing it like we're going to be banned from going outside for 1-2 months. Even if we do a 2 week shut down we can still go buy food at publix.

Did Europe run out of TP? Anyone have Family there that can confirm? I figured with all the bidets....
