Sorry Guys....and a heck of a lot CHEAPER !
That is true,Arbetters is not cheap for what it is(but that's how its been there that long),at least for me stopping in for a mustard kraut dog,a chili onion dog and a cheese fry is a must(my favorite and main reason I love the place,I am all about the cheese fries). If you go to hot dog people they'll tell you the hot dogs are not great as they dont have that snap with the casing, they lean to being mushy but I like them and last time I went I was surprised to see they have the other hot dogs with the snap on the menu now, didnt get them though, stuck to what I've been getting for years.

In Summer Season ALDI carries the True German Hot Dog Sausages, when they are available they are fantastic (Made in the USA to German Standards).

Look for them in the Blue Diamond plastic packages. When I get them I normally have a Hot Dog Party at my place on that Weekend... Finger Lickinn' Good !

Boars Head has several types of dogs. One of them has the casing that gives the snap. I prefer no snap. I'm no connoiseur though. I'm happy with the Costco $1.50 dog and drink.

My husband worked at Grand Union years ago too. He worked at one that was 24 hours, graveyard shift. Somewhere on 8th street or Flagler I think.

There was a grocery store at Dadeland. I think it was where the food court is now.

What I miss most from that strip mall is the Gold Star Deli. We've lost a lot of great Jewish/NY delis in Miami and Miami Beach over the years, but that one was my sentimental favorite, even more so than bigger and more famous delis such as Wolfies or Rascal House, because I would go there so often with my parents when I was growing up in the '60s & '70s.

Luria's was great because they had to buzz you in. As a kid entering alone it was one of my first examples of feeling like I belonged. Always brought a grin to my face when I heard that sound of the lock opening.

That Grand Union later became a no-frills grocery store called Basics, sort of like Aldi but full sized
