I live in Boca Raton and I have been given a job opportunity in Aventura.

I was wondering if you guys think driving everyday from Boca to Aventura is too long a commute.
Aventura is a little north of Miami, so it wouldn't be as long a drive as commuting to Miami. Is it a feasable commute or not?

What is the best route to take? The Turnpike or 95? How long will the ride be? 30 min?

That ride will be long during rush hours. Thats basically driving through all of broward county to get to work back and forth, day in and day out. Traffic will be a *****, but maybe if u get a sunpass and take the turnpike everyday you'd have a better commute. Idk . either way u slice it that commute is gonna be hella long.

Hey, I just spoke to someone the other day who used to commute from Boynton to downtown Miami for 5 years...

But still, Boca to Aventura will be quite long both distance and time wise. And your approach into Aventura once you get off the highway won't be easy either - there is a lot of traffic there.

Maybe get off I-95 at Pembroke Rd exit and take Pembroke Rd to US1 and then take US1 south into Aventura.

Because the most logical exit - Ives Dairy Rd - is quite congested.

Use Google maps or waze and find out exactly how long it will take.

But seriously, it's going to be a slog over the long-run. Either move further south or pass on the job

My mother-in law is commuting from N. Miami to Boca Mon - Fri. It takes her over an hour to get there in the morning and over 1hr 15 mins to get home. its bumper to bumper usually thru broward and even paying for the express lanes only helps a little bit, but at least it dumps off right at the Aventura Exit.

Yes, at least someone had common sense to make an exit from Express Lanes by the Ives Dairy (Aventura exit).

They are stretching the express lanes on I-95 further north too... so it may improve the travel time from Boca.

Personally, I would move somewhere closer.

There is no way I would even consider that commute.
95 is the only to go.

I'd go with 1hr 15 mins each way in ideal traffic... throw an accident in and....

If it's a great job... move further south?

I knew two people that did that drive from Jupiter and Tequesta to Aventura everyday. I also knew someone that used to commute from Cutler Bay to Palm Beach Gardens every day for ten years. They usually went in early and stayed late to avoid traffic as much as possible, not much of a life in my opinion. All three did the commute to keep their families where they were. Would I do that commute, no, but people do.

With all due respect... years ago I commuted from east Delray to.. I think it's considered Pembroke Park.. it's been 20 years.. it was the exit just north of Ives Dairy Rd..anyway.. back then it was 30 minutes solid in good traffic.. a few times it took me hours to get home (season/accidents/95 shuts down)...
That drive now, with the amount of people that've moved here since then would be an hour.. in perfect conditions.
I guess if it's a great job offer and you're loving Boca you can make it work but that drive is going to age you... it's just a shame there are so many lunatic drivers down here.

Which major intersection in Boca do you live near and which major intersection in Aventura will you be working at? It actually does make a difference.
