No, they want fair advantage and to see which city will throw them the most $$, simple as that.

But hey, ANYTHING is possible, but we also have to be realistic and think to ourselves, should cities/ states/provinces fork out billions to get Amazon HQ #2?
They want a US City so its not going to be Montreal or Toronto.
If they care about land cost & cost of living, Boston is definitely out.

Austin is an obvious pick but if they really want East Coast, it'll be some place in Florida or Atlanta, unless Charlotte steps in.

Austin doesn't have a real mass transit system. Atlanta is the only city the checks all the boxes, but a big part will be which city is willing to offer the most $$$$$$$$$$.

They opened competitions to Canadian cities as well, Toronto and MTL are front-runners too BTW. I'm sure they're picking an American city, but you're already discounting T.O and MTL which are the hottest markets in tech right now.

According to who?

Bloomberg reported that Boston was a frontrunner, but Amazon quickly refuted that story. Amazon spokesman Drew Herdener went on to add that there are no frontrunners at this point.

Exactly, if there were front runners people wouldn't be getting excited and wasting time putting together in-depth proposals.

Its all speculation at this point. Miami has the same chance Atlanta has right now and we already have the fulfillment center in Lakeland and the shipping center by Opa Locka airport.

If they are really making a push for S. American business, Atlanta won't stand a chance. But, Florida/Miami will have to throw money at them with tax breaks so let's see how much they are going to pony up.

I meant front-runners as a top 5 city, not literally #1. And how do I know this? when your whole family are business people with political connections and inside traders, you get scoops before the GP so that's all I'm gonna say for now.

You laugh, that's adorable, but you don't know anything. I've worked in internships for MDC gov't, MTL gov't and soon CAD gov't. You meet many people in many fields, plus I've done model U.N, and have been to a conference at the actual U.N, which is networking but you wouldn't know. I also know the backers behind Miami world centre, among others developers. So keep laughing, it's ok, cause I actually get info daily, while you twiddle your thumbs daily.
