ArtPrize 2010 is about to kick off, its second year, on Sept. 22nd. More artists this year, over 1700, and more venues, over 160, spread throughout downtown. It's gonna get crazy around here (again).

Be sure to visit The Factory, upstairs from San Chez (38 West Fulton).

What may be the sole digitally interactive exhibit will be showing there (and hey, I'm a computer guy).

Can't wait to see the entries. Last year had a great mix, and it was very nice seeing everybody filling the downtown areas.

I was sooooo lucky to have my best friend getting married in Grand Rapids last Sept. so i was able to fully experience the awesomeness that was ArtPrize! Sadly, my trips this year are saved for the holidays and wedding dress shopping with my sister in chicago...i will miss out on ArtPrize.....hopefully I can make it next year, it was such a cool experience!!!!

Default Where should I stay?

I am planning on coming up to Grand Rapids for ArtPrize over a weekend in October. I know it is spread throughout the city, but are there hotels I should look into that may be a little closer to the action? Thanks for any help!

we stayed at the Days Inn downtown which is now a Holiday Inn on Pearl Street. We walked to everything! there was art in the lobby and the Gerald Ford museum is across the street which houses lots of art outside and in...holy cow I wish I could go back this year it was so cool!

ps-the hotel was reasonable and very nice!

Uhh, no. That's in a really run-down area of 28th Street.

The Radisson on Ann St might not be too expensive, but still you'd have to drive downtown. Basically ALL of the venues are downtown or near downtown.
