I've felt this particular city, IMO, has struck a strange vibe with me. Please note that i've been in my fair share of towns/cities across the country.

What is your take that makes Melvindale a portal to another dimension?

May be not another dimension, but among the Downriver communities it is unique.
Melvindale is often overlooked and rarely mentioned by other Downriver residents. It is generally known for it's refineries and industries along the Detroit border. Melvindale-North is so different from the SE side, one would barely think it is the same city. It truly is city with an identity crisis and without real status.
