That's really all that matters.

We see this type of thread EVERY YEAR. It's like if 12 feet of snow isn't on the ground by November 1st everyone thinks the winter automatically sucks.

In reality, the heaviest snowfall for most of us doesn't fall until January and Ferbuary.

Average Dates of First Measurable Snowfalls Across Southeast Michigan
Actually, the first measurable snow this season came 4 days earlier than average to Flint (Nov 12th) and their first 1"+ snow also came 4 days early (Nov 25th). At Detroit, the first measurable snow (Nov 23rd) came 6 days late and they have yet to see the first 1"+ snow (avg is Nov 30, so it will be later than normal).

Despite the snowflakes of last week, November was a generally chilly but dry and boring month weather-wise. Though there is no question about it...snow is coming!

AMEN! This is especially true for the southern part of the state. Yes, it is SUPPOSED to snow in November. But winter is not suppose to set in this early.

Do you downstaters not have snow yet? We are swamped up here in the Upper Peninsula! I've been shoveling snow the past couple of days. Nothing like that coming inside from the snow, ice melting on your feet feeling! Invigorating.

We have a nice coating on the ground also, for close to a week now. It does look like this coming weekend's warmth will take some of it away, I'm feeling pretty good about the snow this year.

We had snow. It was gone by late yesterday afternoon and it looks like mid to upper 40's for the week-end.

Local news guy on the radio here in mid-MI said warm this weekend...then a cold snap, but then another warm up right after that. So far it is following the exact pattern as last year...not good.

We had a light dusting on Sunday morning after thanksgiving. Not even 1/2 inch. It had completely melted away by the time we got out of church. That is all we have seen.

It is not something I really lock into memory, but it seems like last year we had 50 degreee days well into December. January was certinaly cold though (or was it february? Lots of days below zero).

We had some where I live, but it's pretty much gone now. By Monday it will all be gone as it's to hit 50 degrees until Wednesday when a cold front hits. I'm still able to go jogging which I love so am happy to not be confined yet on a personal level. In the big picture though I know this is not good. We don't want another summer of drought and continuing low water levels. I say bring on the snow for the good of the environment.
