I am thinking about starting a consultation business back home in Michigan off the side,any idea's on where to begin up there?It is going to be for the construction industry.

Residential construction is all but dead in Michigan.
Nobody is building new subdivisions anywhere. and will not for at least 10-15 years.

However, consider looking at the commercial side of the construction business.
Shopping centers, strip malls etc....developers cannot build them fast enough.
Health care facilities also

I agree with what Mike Jones said. One of my best friends is an architect at one of the big time development firms in Detroit and (despite having made their rep on million dollar homes) they have turned almost exclusively to malls, hospitals, schools and prisons. Apparently those sectors are still booming.

exactely what i am looking for,no offense to anyone,but i don't waste my talent on residential,i only work commercial construction,it has a better backbone in any type of economy.
