Hello All,

First of all I am sorry if this posting is redundant. But when I searched I got data mostly from 6/7 years back.

I am moving to East Lansing / Okemos area in mid of May from Virginia.

I would like to know what is the cost of average utility bills in this area for water/sewage, heat / gas and electricity.

When I searched for apartments, I found that few do not include any utilities and few apartments include some utilities. So this will help me decide and calculate my monthly spending.

Consumers Power is the energy supplier for this area~they service both gas and electricity, depending on what you end up with in your apartment/home. Water and sewer is usually by the municipality and it's based on use amount (with a minimum of $4 per month). Meridian Township will bill you (most likely if you end up in the Okemos/East Lansing area). You can usually find out what the average utility cost is for each apartment by calling the apartment leasing company, they can often give you an estimate. You could also call the utility company and tell them where you are considering renting, and they can often tell you an approximate range for apartments of that size or in that particular apartment complex.
