I currently have Sprint, and have never had a problem with dead spots (except in the mountains between here and VA, but won't have to worry about that any longer). With the plan I'm paying for, I SHOULD have excellent coverage.

Anyway, I just found out that T-Mobil may be paying a person's termination fee to get them to use T-M. If that is correct, I would switch - as long as the coverage is decent.

Any thoughts or input is appreciated.

T-Mobile is fine, their network is newer than Sprints because Sprint is undergoing a network transformation by replacing all their US towers under a project called "Network Vision". T-Mobile has basically finished theirs.

If you just use voice+text T-Mobile is a great value. If you use data the high-speed 4G will be restricted to mostly urban areas. There is low-speed (2G/EDGE) in the rest of the areas.

If you have a need for deep in-building, underground coverage then you want a US carrier with sub <1GHz spectrum and that is AT&T or Verizon but will be much more expensive.

Also T-Mobile has roaming limits in the UP and north of Saginaw I believe on their network so if you FREQUENTLY go off-net (e.g. way north in MI/UP) you may want to research that. In these non-T-mobile network areas the phone will work as normal and connect to AT&T. There is a limit to the amount of data I believe you can use while on a non-Tmobile network.

Thanks for all the info.

I could have put more detail in my OP, but you covered everything quite well, thanks again.
