My first Husband is deceased, so I know there will be no Contesting the Adoption, However I can not find out what papers will need to be filed because OUR county decided that they dont want/cant help with that Anoying Question anymore. I have 3 Kids, 16,13, and 11. And all 3 want to be adopted/ names change . (There father was abusive )

Can anyone here tell me what Papers I have to have? What we need to do? We are in *CLARE* county. And I know every County is different.

When I called here to the County Court House I was told 2 times, that I should just call a Laywer and have him to do it. I called a Laywer which told me
1: Its going to cost 500 $ per Kid if he does it
2: He sees NO need for a Laywer, being Kid;s Father is dead.

So I am stuck, the Laywer wont give me no info on Papers either UNLESS I come in and pay him the Fee either.
I feel like its a BIG ole Buddy Buddy Circle here. ARHG!

What if you just went for a legal name change -- would that be cheaper? If it's mainly to get the names to match.
