help me find this leelanau peninsula town...
it has a long curve in the downtown area and this town was full of shops and restaurants and when we drove through i swore we'd someday go back for a visit, but we toured so much of michigan that i forgot which town was which. could this be sutton's bay?

Sounds like Suttons Bay to me, one of my favorite towns.
Lots of great shops and places to eat.
Cute beach and great grocery store (Hansens) too for picking up goodies to have a picnic.
It's on the east side of the peninsula, not far from TC.
The west bay would be on your right as you're driving from TC.

Certainly sounds like Suttons Bay - one of my favorite places. I have family in Omena - the next little town north of Suttons. Any place in Leelanau county is marvelous. I live 80 miles away across Lake Michigan in Menominee, MI which is in the Michigan Upper Peninsula.

Nice place.
But I prefer "Fishtown".
