Man, how time flies.

We won't be back to Michigan until next summer for a visit with our loved ones.

So, as a special request, I'd like to see all of your great pics of the stunning fall colors that I miss so much.

Get those cameras ready, and get ready for Indian Summer!

Post 'em here......I need sumthin'.

Feel free to send dead leaves so I can smell 'em.

Just returned home from a little drive around this area. Mentioned to the DW that I should have brought the camera with me because the apples are hanging heavy and turning red already. The Pears are also heavy on the trees so it looks like a nice crop of both this year. The peaches are ready now and started to hit the farmers markets a week or two ago.

I'll try to get a few of the great Indian summer and fruit harvest for you.

Dang it's still August and I feel like putting the heat on this morning!
Leaves aren't turning colors yet in Flint, Michigan though.
What will this cool, wet summer do to the color season?

113 here today.....

Ya know, we have to put our carved pumpkins in a cooler with ice during the day. We like to carve 'em the weekend before Halloween.

They just don't last......

We're just south of you in Ortonville and some of them are turning here. I mean most everything is green but I've seen plenty of oranges, reds and yellows around...for a few weeks now actually.

Fall color change isn't caused by the temperature change. It's caused by the days getting shorter leading up to winter as the trees get less sunlight per day and do can't their photosynthesis thing anymore. So color change will occur at the same time it always does.
