I sure was exited to see my girl friend when I got home from boot camp at Christmas.

She wrote me everyday in boot camp and every day from Jan-mid June.

Happened to about 90% of the guys in our squadron so I figured I wasn't the only one.

Were you one of the 10% ?

Sorry to hear that, I hope it ended up for the better.

I ended up marrying mine and we celebrate our 30th anniversary this year. I guess I was one of the few lucky ones.

I'm from a military family. Two of my kids went into the military as well as my son in law. We attended each graduation, as well asmy SIL's eventual graduation from OCS. I believe we spent two nights and two days max each time. I mean, it was a big enough deal but not a HUGE deal. But it was fun to spend the time with the soldier/airman right before they shipped off to a new assignment. In each situation, they were super proud of their success and it was a great time. We never spent the whole four days of hoopla there. Just the night before graduation, the day of graduation, then that evening and left the next day by about noon.
