I am a 18-year-old female looking to join the military. I know a lot about each branch but I'm not sure which one to join. I'm engaged to be married sometime in 2017 and I would like a good life for my fiancee and I.
I like working out and running and I want to travel the world and serve my country.
I also want to do 20 years or MORE in the military. Based on your knowledge and experience, which branch is the best for me? Thank you.
There are a lot of different career paths in the military. I went the medical/nursing route in the Army and had a decent career. I think all the branches have very good medical opportunities.
Unfortunately, in the Army you could be deployed and away from your spouse for long periods of time. This has put a hardship on many other military members that I know (divorced). Also moving every 3-4 yrs is very difficult on many families.
I'm not sure how the Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard deployment experiences are compared to the Army.
You haven't served a day in uniform, don't even know which branch you want to join (despite knowing a lot about each one) and you already know you're going to do 20?
Why don't you go talk to recruiters from each branch and hear their sales pitch first? See how MOS is determined and how duty stations are given out.
