Comedies get a pass on accuracy as long as they're not trying to be insulting. For instance, "Down Periscope" gets a pass. I can't recall a recent Navy movie that was accurate. The most accurate ones were made during the 40s, 50s, and 60s. My brother-in-law was Army national guard and got a kick out of that Pauly Shore movie.
The number one all time movie about accuracy involving boot camp was??
1.) Full Metal jacket. Nothing else comes close. I went to Navy boot in Orlando and it was almost like that. I'll never forget marching on the grinder doing drills under 90 degree heat.
As I was in the Navy the only film close to showing Navy life was the Crimson Tide movie. My job wasn't cool and sexy so I don't think Hollywood would be lined up to shoot movies about it.
Jag involves good stories but the details are off sometimes.
PS...I never saw a women in uniform look as good as Catherine Bell.

As for Coast Guard movies, The Island (1980) gets two thumbs down! We wondered if the producers had ever actually seen a CG Ship. On the other hand, The Guardian (2006) was filmed with real CG Rescue Swimmers on the set to assure accuracy and answer questions. It was very realistic. And, I'd agree with "bellhead" on his answer to boot camp. Full Metal Jacket (1987) is just about how it was. Now, about Dr. Strangelove (1964)...

I remember watching Down Periscope on a base and when Kelsey Grammer's character keeps his cover indoors and salutes everybody said WTF out loud.
I'm Nam era Naval Air so can't vouch for the total accuracy of WW11 movies but from historical perspective I think-Tora-Tora-Tora, Midway, Battleground, Patton, The great Escape are accurate. Don't know how accurate but Saving Pvt Ryan seemed for real. But then there are pure entertainment movies like the Dirty Dozen, Kelly's Heros, Top Gun, G. I. Jane. Can't remember the title of the movie, Kirk Douglas C.O. on present day aircraft carrier goes thru some kind of time warp storm back to the beginning of WW11 in the Pacific. I think I may have been in a time warp when I spent a year of my life at NAS Keflavik Iceland.
Jarhead seemed pretty inaccurate. I gave up watching after the part where the guy gets choked in boot camp by the DI. That doesn't fly these days. Hell, I went through 20 years ago and one of our DIs was under investigation for things he said to recruits. I can't imagine what would have happened if he starting flat out choking someone.
