Rough past couple of threads here in this forum. Recall that posting links that end with .mil, questions on military pay or benefits and duty locations were good starter threads. Seems like a reasonable pursuit.

RE military vs politics, it's pretty bad and one of the reasons I don't post in here much recently. It's typically the same usual suspects posting information removed from its context and taken as gospel from their partisan news source of choice.
I see it on other boards as well, but it typically revolves around election cycles. Here, it is constant shilling.
What I've found is that today, being critical of the military is considered politically incorrect in many circles. The anti-military faction doesn't have the guts to express themselves in real world conversations, so like with many other subjects, they let it loose on internet forums. This forum is a target for said individuals to do their trolling.
I mean, in today's world where even a virus and its treatment/prevention are politicized and turned into hills for people to die on (and well, I meant that figuratively but I guess its an applicable phrase in more ways than that), I can't say I'm surprised to see more political discussions here or anywhere else.
