So show us some verifiable proof that "Liberty Mutual, State Farm, or Geico" is competitive and that "USAA is overpriced"....

Well, I can't say at this point that they're cheaper up front than State Farm, but they do treat me better.

I've had USAA for years. I've always had excellent service with the auto side. I have homeowners that increase every year but I've haven't made any claims yet since I've been a homeowner for 14 years. Also, have life and personal property insurance but haven't made a claim yet.

Did you see where I posted that USAA was five times more than Liberty Mutual for my home insurance policy?

There's nothing wrong with USAA. But plenty of people are quite happy with other insurance companies. If you have a standard insurance requirement they are likely competitive. But if you're trying to insure a beach house or require hurricane insurance then it'll be significantly more expensive.

I had USAA home insurance in GA. When the Army transferred me to FL in 2005 I tried to get USAA in FL but they wouldn't insure the house because of the hurricane risk (just after the 2004 hurricanes). So I thought 15 years later I would try again. Nope now it is increased sinkhole activity in FL. So they won't insure. Said as a conservative company they don't want exposure to additional risk.

that is what I mean that they are giving me less reason to stay with them.

And the investment arms for USAA where my IRA and mutual funds are have been sold off to another company. so they are getting out of that business.

no complaints with the service at all during my 43 years with them.

If you're financially savvy then you almost have to shop around insurance premiums. Loyalty will cost you. I've never had any bad experiences with Liberty Mutual, State Farm, or Geico. They all seem to do a good job to stay competitive.

Every six months I shop around. All I get are quotes that are higher than USAA. When I get my quotes, I take a copy of my USAA coverages with me, so it's an apples to apples comparison. I don't stick with USAA out of loyalty, I stick with them because I'm voting my wallet.

That's good that you shop around.

I shopped around and Liberty Mutual cut me a large break since I bundled with my house. USAA wasn't competitive. I imagine if I still had my home owners policy with them it might have been cheaper.

I am eligible to get USAA and I looked into it and talked to them and decided not to take my business there because I use Florida Farm Bureau and they are $400 cheaper a year for 4 vehicles, 2 motorcycles and one house. My boat is on a different insurer.

Have you looked at Florida Farm Bureau? When I lived in Georgia, I had Georgia Farm Bureau and when I moved to Florida, I ended up going with FFB over USAA because FFB for the same coverage was $400 cheaper a year.
