I was just wondering if anyone here knows who will be running the light rail system when its up and running and who will be providing security for it? I have asked some people that work for the Milwaukee County Transit System and they haven't heard if they will be operating the system.

Are you speaking of the Milwaukee to Madison route? If so, it's pretty well dead.

I think he means the light rail that is supposed to go down farwell to downtown to somewhere else which I forget right now. I dunno who will operate it but my guess would be the county.

With budget problems in Milwaukee and the state itself, I hate to be pessimistic, but these rail projects will probably be put on hold for awhile.

I'd love to drive to the Kenosha Metra station, and grab a train to Milwaukee. If I want to visit Milwaukee now, I'd need to drive to Sturtevant {Amtrak}, might as well drive all the way there, IMO.

I found this doing a internet search.

I asked this question because there was an article in the Milwaukee Buisniess Journal that had a preliminary start date for the contruction to begin on this project. I am not in favor of this project, but since it's going to be built, I just wanted to know who was going to operate this system once it was up and running.

You don't mean Milwaukee Wisconsin do you?

for light rail you need to go to a much more liberal city like :

Dallas

or Charlotte:

or Atlanta:

or Salt Lake City, home of those Pagan Mormons

or Houston

I'm guessing you're talking about the Milwaukee Streetcar, that is distinct from light rail. The city of Milwaukee if planning to operate the system but they're also looking to have MCTS operate it, they want it to be a seamless transition for transfers & experience between the bus & rail.

Currently, preliminary engineering is being completed & soon the rest will be finished. As I understand it, they're looking to start construction in Spring 2014. You can lookup more info on milwaukeestreetcar.com
