Hello, everyone!

I am moving to Milwaukee to start Grad School in January. I'm actually getting there in a week... and don't even have a housing contract yet! Go figure!!

I'm looking into the Downtown-ish area, just because I like the taste of "the city".

I have narrowed my search to two affordable apartments.

The first one is on Farwell, between Brady and Albion.

The second is on Cass St, south of Ogden Ave.

HOWEVER, the question is: are there any supermarkets or grocery stores in the Farwell--Brady area ???
I haven't been able to locate any, and I won't have a car.
What's exactly on "East Towne Plaza" ?? I can't see much detail using Google maps...

I really appreciate your help!

East Town Plaza is where you'll find your grocery store, Pick n Save. There's also a Starbucks, Blockbuster, UPS & a couple other places in that plaza area. There's also a little italian grocery store on Brady St. called Gloriosos, love that place. So you're thinking either Farwell or Cass? You'll be closer to Pick n Save if you're on Cass, but Farwell is only like 4 blocks east of Cass. Either place you'll be able to walk to Pick n Save, it's about a 10 min. walk.

Use Yahoo! maps instead of Google. They make it much easier to search for things like grocery stores and at magnifications of 0.5 miles and 1440 feet it shows you the names and boundaries of the different city neighborhoods.

I personally would prefer the Cass area - but only because I love that Cass area. In fact, I work Downtown and am going to be walking up to that area in just a little bit today to pick up some groceries.

Both areas are really nice. Farwell is probably a touch younger / college-y and Cass a touch more affluent and 30s-ish professionals, but you'd do fine in either area. Both good spots.
