Does anyone have any recommendations for a good movie theater? Please include reasons, i.e. - biggest screens, cleanest, best popcorn, etc.

We enjoy going to a variety of different theaters for different reasons. Our favorite old-school theaters are the Riverview, Lagoon and Uptown Theaters in Minneapolis. For modern theaters we typically go to the Mall of America theater or the theater in downtown Hopkins. Also, for an entirely different theater experience check out the drive-in theater in Cottage Grove.

The one in the Southdale Mall(I Think) is cool, and they got really cool hand dryers in the bathroom! I also been to the theatre in Plymouth by Lunds and Cub Foods, it was a typical movie theatre, nothing bad. Theres also a drive in theatre in Litchfield, though thats not in the Twin Cities. Didn't know there was one in Cottage Grove!.

Wow! That looks like a nice place! Blows my Lakeville theater right out of the water.

AMC Rosedale blows most in the Twin Cities out of the water. It's not my favorite one as it gets mobbed, but it's hard to beat $5 deals, the restaurants and high-end mall it's attached to for a date, and the general upkeep of this theater.

Do any of the theaters have really big screens? In Des Moines there was a place that closed down several years ago called the Riverview that only had two screens, but each was about 3 times the size of the average screen today. Is there any place like that?

The drive-in screen in Cottage Grove is massive.

For indoor theaters, the IMAX theater at the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley is quite large.
