It looks like the Southwest Light Rail Project is going to be underway sooner due to expedited federal funding from Obama's admisntration. I think MN (twin cities area) has gone a considerable change and growth atleast in infestructure wise. The first light rail, then the midway corridore, now the southwest and the midway green way light rail, the 35W cross town etc..... the area is growing. Now we need the state legislature to work on business friendly taxes and incentives to attract investment to the area.

This is good. When gas prices get to $10.00 a gallon, the Twin Cities will have a big advantage over metro's like Houston and KC etc.

I think after this one is built we start looking into streetcar or subway systems.

Subway line ideas:

DT Robbinsdale - DT Minneapolis
DT St Paul - West St Paul (via Robert st)
DT St Paul - Little Canada (via Rice st)

This project should bring jobs. Do you know of any jobs for this projects(I have some skills in GIS/Cartography)? If not, okay. If so, can you tell me of any of them?

I'm thinking more from St. Cloud, Shakopee, Hopkins, Apple Valley and Chaska to Minneapolis.

Woodbury, Blaine, Anoka,Eagan, Inver Grove, and White Bear Lake to St. Paul.

For commuters: I think next, a line to Maple Grove or Brooklyn Park (Bottineau I think its called) should be built, followed by the Red Rock from Hastings, or a commuter rail to Hudson or Stillwater (through Woodbury, Maplewood).

For city-dwellers: 1st priority has to be St. Paul to the airport (I actually would like an Eden Prairie-Airport/MOA- Downtown St. Paul line) and then something through Uptown, the SW LRT really should have gone through it to benefit this major area of Minneapolis.

Thanks. My concept is to extend it as far as metropolitan limits will allow.
