OK, a joke sorta, but not really. Today I was checking out a new Asian grocer in the area and came across this in the frozen section. They came four to a package, didn't see a price. Did a little internet searching and found out they were prepared steamed, served with sriracha accompanied with sticky rice. I gotta tell you, this will not make it onto many local menus, but I'm proud that our fair city is getting more and more progressive.

That's not progressive. That's just revolting.

I was walking my dog at 9pm tonight and I had a flashlight and I noticed a huge black beetle that was walking in circles on the sidewalk of Zenith Ave So and 36th St. near the Bakken Museum. When I arrived home, I researched to find out what kind of beetle this is and I found this posting. This is exactly what I saw tonight on the sidewalk. I am shocked to see this enormous bug in Minneapolis!
Where do you think it came from??

These aquatic macro invertebrates are native. They are in the Hemiptera order (true bugs). These are in the belostomatid family. They have a much smaller more common cousin that is only an inch long. But you can call them whatever you want, I personally thought giant massive water bug from hell was quite funny.
