Any suggestions for any/all of the above?

I've never lived in a place where garbage service wasn't provided by the city.. suggestions of providers that service Chanhassen-- and do they also include recycling?

I believe that Mediacom is the only cable provider in Chanhassen.. any other providers besides Direct TV that I should check out? How reliable is Direct TV (here in FL, our heavy rains become problematic with DTV, so we have Xfinity/Comcast instead)-- and any suggestions for lawn and snow care?

Thanks!

Waste Management for Garbage and Recycling

Comcast/Infinity for tv, internet, and phone--did you call? They advertise being in Chanhassen

TruGreen for Lawn Service

Ask neighbors when you get here re: snow care

Dish would also be an option. The reliability just depends but yes, in major storms, your feed will go out with satellite. Mediacom is a fairly reasonable company for a cable provider. If you really do have 2 options for cable, that is nice..and keeps costs down usually.

I'd find a local company to do your lawn and snow care. They will be better than any chain place.

Would you believe that MediaCom doesn't offer the NHL Center Ice package?! How is that even possible in MN?! It should be, I don't know, illegal or something So my options are either Dish or DirecTV.

I'll ask around for lawn and snow care once I'm there, that's an excellent suggestion, thank you

In my new area, Comcast isn't an option-- not that they're perfect (I have them currently), but it IS the 'evil that I know'.

I'll call both Waste Management and TruGreen, thanks

TruGreen cuts lawns???? It's a national chain that only fertilizes and aerates lawns.

Pretty much everywhere in the Twin Cities has one option for cable. This came up in a recent thread where we were discussing that other markets have two or more cable options, including other cities in MN. So you're stuck with either the local cable company, or DirecTV/Dish.

I have DirecTV, and have been very pleased with it. We do unfortunately have to use Comcast for broadband. It's basically the only option other than DSL.

I would look into Garbage Man for trash service. They're inexpensive and locally franchised. Several of our neighbors have switched to them as well. Plus, they charge very little, if at all, for leaving extra stuff next to the can. I can't tell you the amount of stuff I've left out there and they always pick it up - I think I've been charged an extra fee twice in three years.
