Hello guys I am planning on relocating to Minneapolis this spring. I am 25 years old and I'm trying to weigh my options between Minneapolis and Memphis as I have family in both. I've posted a forum in Memphis now Im posting one in Minneapolis. I have job interviews in fortune 500 companies in Roseville, Edina and Bloomington and so Im looking for places to rent in them. Just in case I get the job in either one of the 3 cities I know where to go. I really like the covington which is in Bloomington and Im looking to pay between $1,000 top $1,200 a month for a decent place in a safe neighborhood. I will have a car as well but I plan to purchase a better vehicle once im officially moving and have found a job in Minneapolis. Which parts of Minneapolis are safe and which are bad? How is downtown Minneapolis? Also which cell phone carrier would you all rank the best throughout the area AT&T, Verizon, Sprint or T-mobile. I currently have Sprint but would like some input on feedback.

This crime mapping tool is very cool to use and allows you to search based on type of crime and change the date ranges for any part of Minneapolis - https://raidsonline.com/?rms=Minneap...nneapolis%20MN

In regards to cell phones - Verizon has pretty regularly been considered the best carrier in the Twin Cities based on coverage and speed but they are also typically the highest priced. Personally, I've had Sprint for 8 years. About 2 years ago they were having major connectivity issues as the did a system upgrade but in the last year it has been quite good and every time I've checked they are quite a bit less expensive than Verizon. My recommendation is to bring your current phone here and see what you think based on where you will be using it.

I just moved out of The Covington. You're not going to get in at that price range. I lived in the smallest 1BR and it was $1400/month and that was introductory pricing because I was one of the first people to move in. Blooomington and Edina as a whole are very expensive for apartments so you will most likely have to lower your standards to get in at your price point.

Where will you work? You don't really want to live in Roseville and work in Edina or Bloomington... or vice versa.

Im not sure where I will work until I come to Minneapolis around the 15th for my interviews. But as I was saying my interviews are in Edina, Roseville and Bloomington. Did you like the convington? was it a nice and quiet area?
