If going from near Bloomington dog park to Bush Lake road (or on either side of Hyland Lake Park), then heading north for example... In general, how's the biking in that area? Easy to navigate? Risky or feels pretty safe? I'm not familiar with the area and moving there...looking for housing, schools and routes to work that will create a (3 season) bike-friendly lifestyle for us. Various sites indicate easy enough to find housing in our price range there and schools that will work for our child. Now just need to know about biking.

There are plenty of trails in and around Hyland park, though I will say that the roads themselves are not particularly bike friendly - they aren't bad, but Old Shakopee Rd and all that isn't great. But there are a lot of quieter streets and trails, and I believe Bush Lake Rd has a trail along most of it, all the way to Normandale Lake / office area. Are you working in Bloomington and planning on work commuting as well?
