We're doing a kitchen window cooking class/dinner thing. Seems a bit more fun and interactive than our normal expensive dinner at a fancy restaurant routine for v-day.

Dunno if they are going to do it this year, but the White Castles offer a "romantic" candlelight dinner for two at some of their restaurants. (I know my wife would be filing for divorce on February 15 if I tried to treat her with this!)

Midtown Global Marketplace (Chicago/Lake in Minneapolis) hosts our 3rd annual "Shred the Love" on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 1pm-3pm.

Members of the lovelorn public are invited to bring in old love letters, emails, photographs, teddy bears, wedding albums, clothing, and other sentimental items that hold memories of an ex-love.
At the event, there will be therapeutic devices such as paper shredders, large scissors to de-stuff the teddy bears, and other ways to help give closure to a love lost...and give participants a fresh start for Valentine's Day.

Those who bring an item to shred will have the chance to register-to-win great prizes, including gift certificates to MGM stores and restaurants, and a free night stay at the Sheraton Minneapolis Midtown Hotel.

MGM vendors will offer "anti-Valentine's" specials throughout the day, including broken heart cookies from the Salty Tart, "Skewered Love" kabobs from Holy Land Deli, and "(What a) Jerk Chicken" from West Indies Soul Food.
