I think the point you are missing is that it is a private parking lot. There are no 'rules' that apply to them. The owners can make up their own rules.

They have given notice that if there is snow you need your car moved by 8:00 am, which for most people means they are gone for work anyway. All you have to do is move your car to the street for a few minutes while they plow. Even in Minneapolis they have odd/even plowing so you can park on one side of your street or the other. If it is supposed to snow overnight, set your alarm to get up at 7:45 to move your car and go back to bed after you are done, problem solved.

i have to agree withe person who does want to get up in the morning. My landlord thinks he can do what he wants when he wants so we refuse to answer the door. The car just does not get moved unless we like moving it or have to go somewhere. My landlord as a slum landlord and when it comes to plowing he may decide to do it have 4 in the morning or at noon depending on how annoying he feels like being that day. I say if it is not on the lease then i do not do. If you live in nice apartment building and the landlord is friendly and reasonable it might be a different story. In my case he does not want to do what we need done on the inside so why cooperate on the outside.

Except parking at an apartment is usually part of the lease. So if it doesn't say they can tow your car for not moving it at 8 am, then they can't because you've signed an agreement for a space to put your car with all the rules in the contract.
