Default Anyone having any luck deer hunting?

I haven't shot yet. Typically I look only for a big buck opening weekend. I've passed on some does and a couple of forkhorns so far. There's a nice 8-point that has showed up on my trail cam that i'd like to put in the freezer...

I'm apparently one of the few Minnesotans who has very little to no interest in hunting and fishing.

My daughtr-in-law got a 6 pointer around noon on Sunday while hunting near Blackduck.

Her dad and mom didn't get any, so 1 for 3 on the first weekend.

I don't hunt but just a reminder-many food shelves will gladly take venison donations if you end up with too much.

I am going to guess with the unusual sightings of some of the wolves and other predators around the state (even in the metro area) that the deer population won't be as large this year.

I love the outdoors, but when we'd go on our yearly trip to western Ontario I would only fish a little and spend most of the time with my younger brother exploring islands.

I've only been deer hunting for 10 years, and I now feed my family for most of the year. But I wouldn't need to shoot a deer to enjoy myself. I love sitting in my stand and just watching the deer. The rut is especially fun to watch, with the bucks and does chasing each other around.
