Hi,

My husband and I have visited Southern Mississippi several times and we REALLY like it, I'd love to relocate there and have kind of been looking at jobs online, however it seems not many are posted for a middle manager in the 45-55K yearly income range. I have managed 50 plus reports in operations/customer contact business so I was hoping to get into the hospitality industry but seems the jobs want you to already have hotel experience or are low paying entry level ones. Any suggestions?

With so many large hotels and casinos in that area, you should do some networking in that industry regardless of the requirements listed in the job postings. They probably overlook some of those experience requirements if they are impressed with an applicant.

Also, you should google the gulf coast area economic development website, which typically lists all the various industries in the area...

I'm university educated with 15 years of work experience and work for a Fortune 500 company managing over 75 people at the present. I pretty much think that classifies me as a professional. I'm not a un-degreed "supervisor" that has toiled for 35 years to make "supervisor" before I retire.

You are entitled to think what you want, in the meaning of professional in the english language, you are not one no matter how highly skilled you are in what you do and if you supervise 20,000 people and have 8 degrees.

Your post suggests you think dictionaries have only one definition. There are levels of definition. Here are just two after the first definition which is that of someone in one of the learned professions with specific standards and on and on....

2. Person who has achieved an acclaimed level of proficiency in a calling or trade.

(2) exhibiting a courteous, conscientious, and generally businesslike manner in the workplace

Our OP could be either.

And as a professional I would point out that English requires a capital.
