That place along the Tennessee-Mississippi border, roughly between two rows of high-voltage power lines where the suburban sprawl thins out and major Memphis throughfares like Tchulahoma and Getwell turn into two-lane roads with a rural feel. There's lots of woods in here, even remnants of small farms along the way. It is best to explore using State Line Road, on the Mississippi side:
LIving in Desoto county for 7 years, I have never heard that phrase "Memphissiipii".
But, that area - just a bit to close for comfort to Memphis, and north of that area is not a good part of Memphis. Church rd. (2 or 3 miles to the south) is usually my recommended cutoff point - anything south. At least Goodman.
There is still rurul land and farms all along the area.
