My husband has a new job at stennis space center...he currently commutes 1 1/2hr to work one way! We need to move and dont know anything about the towns near Stennis. We live near hattiesburg now. Good schools are important. Does poplarville or picayune have good schools? Some have suggested Carriere, but none of the "advice" i get is from locals..i would love to hear from locals who live near or within reasonable commute to Stennis and know the towns/areas well. Any area info from locals on a nice place to live and raise a family would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Schooldigger.com ranks the top schools in order by test scores....the top schools are Pass Christian, Bay St Louis, Hancock High, Poplarville, and West Harrison in that order. The top three are very close together. Picayune was the lowest.

I am researching the same thing as we may have a move to the area coming up in the next few months!! So glad I found your post! All of the towns I have written down to research are a little too far from Stennis to work for our family as well. We would be moving from Florida, space coast area, so I was hoping to get some good local info as well.
