Can anyone tell me about Horn Lake or towns around that area?

tudd, if you go to the top center of your screen there is a "search" feature...click that on and do an advanced search, then put Horn Lake in your key words on the left and use the drop down box to scroll to Mississippi and click that - you will find a wealth of recent info on the Horn Lake area that has recently been posted and the areas around it. That may keep you amused until some other Mississippians wander by on this beautiful post Thanksgiving morning!

Good morning. I love Horn Lake and always have. Its not the small town atmosphere any more like it used to be, but is a lot better than Southaven and Olive Branch which have gotten so crowded. My girls are grown now and don't attend school any more, but they were excellent back when. Horn Lake, Olive Branch, and Southaven have grown by leaps and bounds because of Memphians moving down here to get away from the crime in Memphis.

well, there is a little problem with property crime being higher than anywhere else in the state....most likely due to proximity to Memphis.
read here: Horn Lake Profile | Horn Lake MS If that bothers you, you might look a little further south at Hernando, or into Tate County, which is mostly rural and very low crime, possibly due to size of the towns (everyone knows who you are) or the fact that it's a dry county (though it seems lotso folks drink..they just stop in Desoto or Memphis to buy it). |

Hi!
I have lived in Horn Lake for a year now (I'm from Memphis). I love it here! It is not as crowded as Southaven or Olive Branch, though I am sure as more people leave Memphis; it will be. The people here are friendly. The crime is not bad at all. |

I heard on the news this morning that a family here in Horn Lake claims to have a New Year's Eve ball that will completely outdo the one in Times Square....that will be interesting to see if you want to get out at midnight to see it.......not this lady! lol
